What's next for RedMeg...

Happy Friday lovely people!

It's good Friday so most of you will have had no work today and it also means a weekend of Easter chocolate awaits! Woo!  Since we last blogged we have been busy with the release of our new Spring goodies , they are available in our Burford and Broadway stockist  La Bulle. They are also online to view. We still have our shopping cart deactivated whilst we finish setting the RedMeg studio up but if you would like anything sent out with free UK delivery then just drop us an email to megan@red-meg.co.uk .

With the mini refurbishment of the Redmeg studio underway, there are lots of new things arriving in the studio over the next few weeks. I am just deciding on what heat press to purchase ( who knew it would be such a task to decide on one!!!) if you have any advice it would be much appreciated! I want one with a foiling attachment so we can offer a proper personalisation service in the future! There will be a new industrial steam iron on the way along with some other bits of equipment that i won't bore you with , it's surprising how many machines it takes just for one Redmeg item! I just need to finish the Spring clean to make space for it all as after rearranging everything to fit the new machines in i currently still have a huge stack of 'stuff' to sort through. I find it quite therapeutic having a good clear out despite the chaos ! I am also still interviewing for a leather machinist to join me in the studio on a freelance basis, if you are interested in applying or know someone that is then send over your C.V to megan@red-meg.co.uk. It's the start of a really exciting new chapter for Redmeg so a great time to join a small business.

Another change will be within our packaging. Anyone that knows me will know how obsessed i am with it!! I am forever sourcing new beautiful packaging but hadn't ever quite settled with what i really wanted. Well i think i have finally found it! I have finally found gorgeous postal boxes that are 100% biodegradable, reusable and recyclable. They are also made out of 80% recycled material and look just beautiful! We are also moving away from as much plastic use as possible so once the last of the bubble wrap has been used i have some biodegradable box fillers on the way. In general we don't use alot of plastic on our products but we will stop using the plastic sleeves that we cover our notebooks with once we use the stock we have left. We will be replacing our stickers on our boxes with hand stamping to be more environmentally friendly too! I love using lot's of packaging to ensure your product arrives looking gorgeous but i think we need to take steps towards doing it in a more responsible way so i am exciting to see what you think of it all.

The vote...

If you follow us on Instagram you will have seen our little poll as to what to make next in the Redmeg studio. As we setup to produce directly from Burford i am thinking ahead as to what product will next be joining our collection. I just could not decide so thought i would leave it up to you guys to choose! Head over to our Instagram highlights to cast your vote. I am thinking of doing a give away for the first one made , as a little thank you for all your patience whilst we haven't been able to produce made to order item's and also a celebration for bringing our manufacture back to the Cotswolds! So keep your eyes peeled for the final verdict. Also for those of you who missed it , Studio pup Milo finally has his own Instagram as we keep getting requests for more pupdates. You can get your regular Milo fix over his page as well as of course the off snippet on ours too!
